 5 Star Caregivers & Nannies accepts applicants from Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Canada. You must be working in one of these Countries.  Unfortunately the processing time for Philippine residents is too long and therefore we do not accept applications from there.   •  5 Star Caregivers & Nannies has positions available for individuals who have extensive experience in childcare and eldercare. We are highly selective with our applicants. We are accepting only those candidates who are exceptional, have experience and verifiable work references.

  • You must have six months of full-time training in a classroom setting or twelve months or full-time paid employment, including at least six months of continuous employment with one employer, in a field or occupation related to the job you are seeking as a live-in caregiver.
     

  • Be willing to train/re-train for Adult, Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification (level C)
     

  • Be willing to submit to a Criminal Records Check.

Live-In-Caregiver Program

The Live-in Caregiver Program was established by the Canadian government to assist it's citizens in receiving help with taking care of their families, loved ones, children, the elderly or disabled relatives. A foreign caregiver can be brought into Canada to meet the excessive demand needed when their is a shortage of Canadian professional Caregivers.
 

Applying To Work As A Caregiver In Canada

If you are considering applying to work as a live-in Caregiver in Canada there are some requirements set forth by  Human Resources Social Development of Canada, A Branch of the Canadian Government that you must have to qualify. Below we have listed 6 main requirements you must have.  5 Star Caregivers and Nannies can assist you with many of these steps to make this process as simple as possible.

1) You must have successfully completed the equivalent of a Canadian high school education which is at least 72 college / university credits

2) You must be able to speak, read and understand either English or French at a level that allows you to function independently in a home setting. 

3) A foreign live-in caregiver who wants to work in Canada must have received a job offer from a Canadian employer and apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for a work permit.

4) Meet the requirements set by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for language, education and work skills necessary to function in the Canadian labour market. Specifically you must have six months of full-time training in a classroom setting or twelve months or full-time paid employment, including at least six months of continuous employment with one employer, in a field or occupation related to the job you are seeking as a live-in caregiver.

5) You must be in good health ( you may be asked for a medical examination).

6) You must show that your not a risk to the security of Canada and pass a criminal check proving you have no criminal record.
